The Town of East Fishkill operates a social center for area seniors. East Fishkill senior citizens interested in participating in the Town's senior program may register at the Community Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 AM to 3 PM. New members are always welcome!

Activities

Jazzercise, crafts, knitting, crocheting, quilting, scrap-booking, art instruction, computer classes, games, cards, shuffleboard, picnics, theme parties, bingo, movies, community service projects, informational presentations. Access to all county-wide senior information and activities. Holiday events both at the center and other locations. Senior participation in Community Day events, tending the community garden, and intergenerational activities with local schools.

East Fishkill Senior Travel Program

Complete schedules available at East Fishkill Library, Community Center, and Town Hall. 2008 Schedule will be available mid-February.

Ten trips per year are planned and executed for senior residents. All trips are chaperoned. The travel program runs March through December with one trip per month.

Day trips are the most popular, but one overnight trip a year is offered. Past overnight trips have included visits to Washington D.C., New Hampshire, and Vermont. This year's overnight trip is to Maine. Although participants pay for the trip, the transportation costs are covered by the Town.

All excursions are very reasonably priced and offer a wide variety of choices. Past day trips include: The Museum of Modern Art, Essex Steamboat & Steam Train, Aqua Turf, Platzl Brauhaus, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway plays.

2008 Tentative Trips    2008 Trip schedule will be available mid February 2008.

Eligibility

To participate in any East Fishkill senior programs, you must be a resident of the Town of East Fishkill and over the age of 60. For more information about senior activities, call 226-8318.
