Carmel Central School District taxes are payable during the month of September. A 2% penalty is charged for payments made during the month of October. Unpaid school taxes are re-levied on the following year's county and tax bill.
The Carmel Central School District taxes are unique in that there is a provision in the law which allows for partial payment. If this option is chosen the first payment is due no later than September 15. The second payment is then due to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance after November 1 but before March 15. There is a 5% charge for this option.
